南美航空（LATAM Airlines）一架波音767客机日前在飞行途中突然发生技术故障，飞机在短短10分钟内急降超过2万3000英尺（约7000公尺），机舱内的氧气面罩也随即自动弹出，乘客吓得惊慌失措，甚至有人一度以为自己性命难保。所幸，飞机最终安全折返并降落，未酿成更严重的事故。
根据《太阳报》报道，这架客机于16日上午从秘鲁首都利马起飞，原定展开航程。然而，当飞机爬升至约3万3000英尺（约1万公尺）高空时，机上突然发生技术故障，机组人员随即宣布进入紧急状态。
据悉，客机当时飞至伊卡（Ica）地区附近，随后在短短10分钟内急降超过2万3000英尺，最终由机长将飞行高度稳定在约1万英尺（约3000公尺）。
飞机急速下降期间，机舱内的氧气面罩自动弹出，乘客顿时陷入恐慌。有乘客拍下事发时的画面，可见氧气面罩垂挂在座位前方，另有一名机组人员抱着氧气瓶在机舱内行动。
一名秘鲁籍乘客拜戈里亚事后透露，飞行员在氧气面罩弹出前不久，已宣布飞机将进行紧急下降。
他心有余悸地回忆，当时脑海中闪过一个念头：“这可能是我生命中的最后几分钟了。”
所幸，在机长控制住飞机状况后，客机随即调转航向，折返回利马，最终于起飞后1小时43分钟，安全降落在豪尔赫查韦斯国际机场。
飞机着陆后，乘客获安排搭乘另一架飞机继续行程。
针对这起事件，南美航空秘鲁分公司随后发表声明，对事故可能造成乘客的不便致歉，并强调乘客及机组人员的安全始终是公司营运的首要考量。
航空公司也表示，事件发生期间，机组人员均严格遵循既定的安全程序。
目前，相关技术故障的具体原因仍有待进一步厘清。
